A fuse, also known as a safety fuse, is a classic short-circuit protection device widely used in power distribution networks and control systems. A fuse is mainly composed of a fuse element and an insulating tube (base). During application, the fuse element must be connected in series within the protected circuit. In the event of a circuit short circuit, the fuse element melts instantly to cut off the circuit and achieve protection. For mainstream products in the industry, fuse elements have been upgraded to high-conductivity materials such as silver and copper, and insulating tubes are filled with quartz sand to enhance arc extinction performance. The fuse elements of Shuguang fuses are precisely processed from pure silver strips, with high-strength ceramic insulating tubes. Common Fuse Types and Applications

Plug-in Fuse: Applied to circuit terminals of 380V and below. Shuguang’s adopt tin-plated contacts for oxidation resistance, suitable for civil power distribution and light-load industrial scenarios.

Screw Fuse: Equipped with a blown fuse indicator, applicable to circuits of 500V or below and 200A or less. Shuguang improves the sensitivity of indicators with impact-resistant ceramic housings, ideal for machine tool electric control systems.

Enclosed Fuse: Divided into filled and non-filled types. The filled type with built-in quartz sand delivers strong breaking capacity. Shuguang’s enclosed fuses adopt high-purity quartz sand with superior tightness, suitable for harsh and complex working environments.

Fast Acting Fuse: Designed for semiconductor rectifier protection. The fuse element adopts a V-shaped deep-groove silver strip structure. Fuse Parameter Selection

In accordance with industrial specifications and Shuguang’s product characteristics, four core principles shall be followed for fuse selection:

The rated voltage shall match the operating voltage of the circuit; overvoltage operation is strictly prohibited. Shuguang offers products covering multiple voltage levels including 380V, 500V and 10kV.

The rated current shall be higher than the long-term maximum operating current of the circuit to avoid accidental fusing under normal working conditions.
