Screw Fuse with High Breaking Capacity
Fuses are classic short-circuit protection devices widely used in power distribution networks and control systems. They provide reliable protection against short circuits and heavy overloads.
The fuse industry is now developing towards higher breaking capacity, faster response and better materials. With years of experience, Shuguang Fuse provides a full range of fuse products with stable performance, suitable for industrial and power distribution applications.
A fuse mainly consists of a fuse element and an insulating tube/base. It is connected in series with the protected circuit. When a short circuit happens, the fuse element melts quickly to cut off the circuit. Most high-performance fuses use silver or copper elements and high-strength ceramic tubes with quartz sand for better arc extinguishing.
Shuguang fuses use precision-processed pure silver fuse elements, with heat-resistant and impact-resistant insulating parts, ensuring accurate and reliable protection.
Main Fuse Types & Applications
1. Plug-in Fuse
Widely used for low-voltage circuits up to 380V, for short-circuit protection of distribution lines and electrical equipment. Shuguang plug-in fuses feature tin-plated contacts for low resistance and good oxidation resistance, ideal for civil and light industrial use.
2. Screw Fuse
Equipped with a visible fuse indicator, which pops up when the element melts. It is widely used in machine tool control systems.
Screw fuses feature high breaking capacity, suitable for circuits up to 500V and 200A.
Shuguang screw fuses use high-strength ceramic housings with sensitive indicators, and perform better than standard industrial products in complex working conditions.
3. Enclosed Fuse
Divided into filled and non-filled types.
Fused enclosed fuses use square ceramic tubes filled with quartz sand, with high breaking capacity, suitable for circuits up to 500V and 1,000A.
Non-filled enclosed fuses have lower breaking capacity, suitable for circuits up to 500V and 600A.
Shuguang filled fuses use high-purity quartz sand for efficient arc extinguishing, with good sealing performance for outdoor and humid environments.
4. Fast-acting Fuse
Mainly used for short-circuit protection of semiconductors and rectifiers, requiring ultra-fast response. It uses V-shaped variable-section silver elements.
Shuguang fast-acting fuses provide millisecond-level response and high breaking capacity, ideal for photovoltaic, rectifier and DC power applications.
5. Self-resetting Fuse
Uses metallic sodium as the fuse element. It limits short-circuit current without breaking the circuit permanently and can be reused automatically.
Shuguang self-resetting fuses have optimized sealing and long service life, suitable for precision power systems that cannot afford frequent power outages.
Selection Guidelines

Fuse rated voltage must match the system voltage. Over-voltage use is strictly prohibited.
Fuse rated current should be higher than the normal working current to avoid unwanted blowing.
Current-limiting capacity must exceed the maximum short-circuit current of the circuit.
Fuse element rating should match motor starting conditions (starting current: 4–8 times rated current, duration 5–10s). Shuguang can provide customized elements for different motors.
